I have always loved and been inspired by fashion illustrations. Graceful swells of fabric soaring in imaginary wind and waves of hair tumbling in heaps onto delicate collar bones portrayed by undulating inky strokes and blots of watercolour rippling across paper. Minute-sized dots and dashes suggesting and bringing to mind sequins and lace. How a fashion illustration can be either strikingly minimal or incredibly detailed yet never failing to communicate the beauty of the clothes, the faces, the figures...it's all quite magical, I think.
I thought I might share some of the images that I find especially inspiring right now. My inspiration du jour, if you will. And now I must go back to work, my drawing skills aren't going to improve my just sitting here and staring at my own blog. x
