"Two things define you: your patience when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything."
It's been over two weeks since Henry and I learnt that our shop at 16 Cheshire Street was cruelly snatched from us the day before our tenancy was to begin. Today was supposed to be the day of our launch party, but as it stands Regimental Vintage is not yet the brick and mortar shop we had hoped, planned, and paid for. And what a price -- so far this incident has cost us thousands of pounds, and a whole lot of anxiety, stress, and the sort of damages you can't put a price on. Yet, we're both still fighting for our baby, our dream -- Henry and I are determined that Regimental Vintage will endure and be eventually reborn from the very nest we chose for it to hatch from. That's all we can tell you on the matter, and we are both so grateful to you all for your understanding, support, and patience during this very trying of times.
Adversity builds character, doesn't it? I imagine that by the end of this ordeal, I will have emerged stronger and wiser than I could ever imagine, although I hope to not lose the idealistic optimism that has come to define me, in the eyes of my friends, as the 'pure but powerful' they think me to be. I am a lover, a dreamer, and also a fighter. It's not coincidence that my uniform of late is a homage to the real warriors; soldiers, peacekeepers, and the military. I practically live in my camouflage trousers (although I do accessorise with leopard print) and when I'm not wrapped in my favourite Aquascutum trench coat I keep warm with a military tunic of some sort.
Today's outfit post is of a military tunic worn by cadets of the United States Military Academy, also known as West Point - an elite military academy attended only by the creme de la creme whose alumni included many notable generals, two presidents of the United States, and eighteen NASA astronauts (5 of which went to the moon). The tunic carries with it a strong and proud history of America's finest heroes, and is a sought-after addition to any military enthusiast's collection. If you're interested in purchasing this fine piece, contact me directly -- you won't find this jacket on our online boutique, Henry and I think it too special for ASOS Marketplace.
Thank you all for your support of Regimental Vintage and for your kindness extended to us in what is a very difficult time. Henry and I are looking forward to having good news to share with you all! In the meanwhile, Happy Humpday - here's hoping you overcome your midweek with strength, grace, and faith. x
